April 2010:
Dawn Maroscher of the Monster Garage Gym and Maroscher Powerlifting Team competed in the AAPF IL State Meet on Saturday, March 20, in both the Open and Masters I Women’s divisions.  Dawn weighed in at 136 lbs and benched an AAPF American Record and AAPF IL State Record bench of 181.7# RAW.  This is the 8th highest RAW bench for any 148 lb weight class women in the world via Powerlifting Watch.  Here is the link to the Powerlifting Watch article and video of Dawn’s record breaking lift http://www.powerliftingwatch.com/node/14868   Dawn will compete at the AAPF RAW Nationals in April where she will attempt to set the world record in her class (176#).  Although she has already pressed more, you can’t set a world record at a State meet.

Bill Blackstone of the Monster Garage Gym and Maroscher Powerlifting Team has been voted in as the Illinois President of 100% RAW.  Bill is a lifetime RAW lifter and benches 525# RAW at 220 lbs and 50 years of age.

Phillip Daniels of the Monster Garage Gym and Maroscher Powerlifting Team has been offered and has signed a 2-year contract to continue to play for the Washington Redskins.  As a 15 year vet, who played in every game last season, (even with a torn biceps and cracked rib), Phillip represents the work ethic that every play should possess.  Phil is already back at the Monster Garage Gym training for the season.  With a 722# AAPF competitive squat in the books, Phil trains hard in the off season and is one of the reasons he has such longevity in the sport.

Monster Bench Challenge is the name of the first meet ever to be held at the Monster Garage Gym.  The meet will be an APF/AAPF Sanctioned meet, run by IL APF President, Eric Stone and APF Female Lifter of the year, Jackie Stone.  You can get your entry form through thestone@chicagopowerlifting.com.

Lastly, the Monster Garage Gym, home of the Maroscher Powerlifting Team and also training site for NFL Washington Redskin Phillip Daniels, is getting BIGGER!  The location of the Monster Garage Gym is in Waukegan, Illinois.  In the past the Maroscher Powerlifting Team has had to pass on accepting new members due to space limitations.  This will no longer be the case as the new facility will provide plenty of room for the serious lifter and competitive powerlifter.
